| | 2. WEST CHICAGO SHARKS 2008 FALL FLING - 11/16/2008 | The West Chicago Sharks always host a quality meet and SCST excited to be back at the Fall Fling!
There are a large number of swimmers at this meet so Warm-Ups are a little different so make sure you show up prior to the beginning of Warm-Ups or you may not get the chance to Warm-Up.

The West Chicago Fall Fling will be held at the West Chicago Community High School Pool, 326 Joliet Street, West Chicago, Illinois; one mile north of Route 38.
POSITIVE CHECK-IN: This meet is a “positive check-in” meet. Each swimmer will be asked to stop at the check-desk upon entering the pool and confirm their presence for the meet. If a swimmer has not checked-in at the desk, he/she will be scratched from their events for that day. Swimmers need to check-in each day if they are entered in multiple sessions.
PARENT WORKERS/OFFICIALS: There will be a need for Officials and Timers, SCST will be assigned a lane to time for each session please be ready to help out.
WEST CHICAGO FIELDHOUSE: There is ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWE IN THE FIELDHOUSE (except Water), Cooler storage is provided in the Concessions area.

MEET FORMAT
•The meet will be a combination of prelim/final and timed final events.
•Preliminary heats will be run combined, 13 & over and 12 & under. Finals will be run in separate age groups with top 16 in each age group returning for finals.
•Relays are pre-seeded and run to completion in prelims.
•All individual events, with the exception of the 13-14 and Senior 400 IM and 500 free events are pre-seeded.
•Championship Finals (top 8) for the Senior 50 events will be conducted in an Australian Skins format with 5 elimination rounds to determine the champion. The elimination rounds will be run about 1 minute apart with the last two swimmers eliminated from the first two rounds and the last swimmer eliminated from the final three rounds.
•Scheduled breaks are shown in the event listing.
•Top 16 swimmers qualify for finals in all prelim/final events.

| | 4. CONGRATULATIONS ST. CHARLES SWIM TEAM SWIMMERS - 11/14/2008 | A number of St. Charles Swimmers competed in the 2008 IHSA Girls Sectionals over the weekend and posted outstanding performances. Not only did Swimmers achieve lifetime best, SCST will be represented at IHSA Girls State by 11 Girls in 16 individual events; RACHEL BURKE 100 Free, ANGIE CHOKRAN 200 IM and 100 Breast, JENNIFER CLAY 200 Free, JESSICA ENGLAND 200 Free and 500 Free, TAYLOR GANNON 100 Fly, GESSICA LEE 100 Fly, LAUREN REYNOLDS 100 Back, KAYLA SCOTT 200 IM and 100 Breast, EMMA SMITH 200 IM and 500 Free, ELISABETH TAVIERNE 100 Back and MEGAN VENLOS 200 Free and 500 Free.
St. Charles North also qualified two relays to move onto the IHSA State Championships; the 200 Medley Relay LAUREN REYNOLDS, ANGIE CHOKRAN, TAYLOR GANNON and KRISTEN HUTCHINSON along with the 200 Free Relay ANGIE CHOKRAN, KRISTEN HUTCHINSON, ALLIE SMITH and JESSICA ENGLAND.
At the St. Charles North Sectional St. Charles North and St. Charles East finished 1 – 2 in the overall team competition. Congratulations to both High Schools.

| | 5. MINNEAPOLIS GRAND PRIX - 11/13/2008 | The Minneapolis Grand Prix is the first stop on the 2008-2009 USA Swimming Grand Prix Series. SCST sent four swimmers up to the meet; LAURA LICARI, ADAM CARNELL, AUSTIN COX and KEN TILTGES. The meet is a great experience for our athletes not only see but also compete against national level and colligate competition, like SCST Swimmers KAYLEE JAMISON and CHRIS PETERSON competing for the University of Minnesota.

MARY DESCENZA swam a perfect six for six gold medals at the Minneapolis Grand Prix. The American record-holder is now in the top position on the USA Swimming Grand Series leader board with 30 points, followed by WILLIAM COPELAND with 15. Sitting in third place are CHLOE SUTTON, IAN CLARK and RYAN LOCHTE tied at 13 points. A $20,000 purse will be awarded to the swimmer with the most points at the conclusion of the six stop series. The St. Charles Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 29th, at 5:30pm.

SCST BLACK TEAM HOLIDAY PARTY - 11/16/2008
BLACK TEAM Swimmers and Parents: On December 20th from 3:00-6:30pm, the BLACK TEAM Swimmers will be gathering at the Milosch Home for a Holiday Party. Our focus this Christmas will be helping the residence of the Lazarus House and Woman’s Shelter. We will prepare a meal for both facilities and we will make a gift that will be given to the children that reside at the shelter. But it won’t be all work. BLACK TEAM Swimmers, be prepared to go on a scavenger hunt, play a white elephant game and eat lots of tasty Christmas Treats. Watch your mailboxes and your emails for more details.
